What started as a simple design system has evolved into a scalable solution for consistent, efficient, and brand-appropriate product development. Unified platform for parallel product development
The Bahn X platform enables parallel product development across multiple teams – quickly, structured, and consistently. Role-based access control ensures that all participants – from designers to developers to project managers – receive exactly the tools and resources they need. Whether Sketch links, coding guidelines, language policies, or presentation templates: the system empowers every role to actively contribute to the digital brand experience of DB.
Brand consistency across all touchpoints
UX principles, visual design and CI/CD guidelines have been consolidated into a unified foundation in the DB design system. This creates a consistent look & feel across products, platforms, and devices.

Accessibility has been a core principle in the DB Design System from the very beginning. Colours, contrasts, font sizes, and interactions have been designed to accommodate a wide range of users – regardless of abilities or usage situations.
